A good bag is one of the few fashion purchases I genuinely believe earns its keep. I’m not saying everyone needs a wall of Birkins and a private driver named Jean-Claude, but there is something deeply practical about owning a few really beautiful bags you love. You use them constantly. They survive trends. They make an otherwise exhausted outfit look intentional. And unlike most things women spend money on, a great bag tends to age alongside you rather than against you.
Also, if men can spend thousands on watches, golf memberships, speakers that allegedly “change the sound experience,” or seventeen versions of the same barbecue, I think women are allowed a nice handbag without entering a public debate about financial responsibility.
